This page features video of motionpaintings that combine digital and ‘real’ materials.  These recordings are meant to give the viewer a sense of what each work looks like when all elements are properly assembled – that is to say, when the digital media used for projection is integrated with all other elements included in each work (‘canvas’, OIL paints, waffle boards, acrylic panels, etc.).

“ABSENCE” is a motionpainting created to memorialize Renee Good, a 37 year old woman who was murdered by an ICE agent on the streets of  Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 7, 2026.  Theses composite recordings – front & side angles – combine digital media and ‘real’ elements (chair, oil paint, canvas, acrylic panels, etc.).  This work is meant for continuous viewing in day or tungsten light. It measure approximately 54″ high, 60″ wide, 24″ deep.  M.o.s., 2026.

“DOTS WEBCAM” motionpainting combines digital media and various ‘real’ elements into a work that is meant to be viewed continuously in daylight or tungsten light.  It is approximately 5 ft. high by 6 ft. across.  M.o.s., 2026.

“A DIFFERENT ORDER” is the last iteration of a motionpainting I started several years ago. A composite of digital media and ‘real’ elements (oil paints, waffle boards, drawings, paper, clear acrylic sheets, parts of van Gogh’s “The Sower”, etc.), this hybrid work reflects my continued interest on the inclusion of “matter”.  Note that, as most of my work over the last several decades, it also breaks with tradition by incorporating directions that hitherto were considered not viable; namely, the inclusion of time (duration, motion, change) and audio – these developments invite new aesthetic explorations based on a contemporary ‘geography of the imagination’.  This 96″x96″x6″ motionpainting is meant for continuous viewing in tungsten or daylight. M.o.s., 2026.

696 #3 MOTIONPAINTING combines traditional practices with digital media, waffle board, acrylics, paper. Meant for large scale projection and placement – approximate 96″ X 96″. M.o.s., 2025
